AUA Papazian Library provides teaching, research, and service programs that prepare students to address the needs of Armenia and the surrounding region for sustainable development. With a mission to collect, preserve, and disseminate information and instructional resources, the library supports a range of academic and public service endeavors. Typical Volunteer Tasks: Tasks include establishing and nurturing a network of supporters known as the Friends of the Papazian Library, bolstering communication with the Diaspora, and contributing English-language articles to increase visibility and outreach. Moreover, volunteers play a key role in fundraising projects, conducting research, drafting proposals, and seeking grants to enrich library resources, while also forging connections with potential donors domestically and internationally. Additionally, volunteers contribute to educational efforts by organizing advanced English classes for library staff and potentially expanding this program to encompass training sessions for members of the Armenian Library Association.


Centro Hispano is an educational & cultural NGO, which was founded in 2003 to present the culture and the language of the “Spanish-speaking world” to Armenia. Through a diverse array of activities, including Spanish language courses catering to beginners and those seeking to enhance their proficiency, as well as organizing parties, concerts, film screenings, festivals, and various cultural events, the center fosters an environment of cultural exchange and appreciation. Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers may teach Spanish courses tailored for beginners or intermediate learners, helping students develop their language skills through interactive lessons and activities. They may likewise support the center’s administrative functions by helping with tasks such as managing schedules, organizing events, responding to inquiries from students or community members, and maintaining records. Volunteers can also assist in planning and organizing cultural events, parties, concerts, film screenings, festivals, and other activities aimed at promoting the culture and language of the Spanish-speaking world.


The Yerevan American Corner facilitates cooperation in the fields of education, research and culture thus serving as a nexus where American and Armenian cultures converge. It is a partnership between the Public Affairs Office of the Embassy of the United States of America in Armenia and the Yerevan Municipality. Typical Volunteer Tasks: Tasks at the center revolve around facilitating various activities aimed at enriching the community’s English language proficiency and cultural understanding. Volunteers often moderate English clubs, book clubs, consulting hours, and discussions, engaging with members of the Yerevan American Corner to promote language learning, literary exploration, and meaningful dialogue.


Brusov State University throughout its whole history, the University has had more than 50,000 graduates – specialists of the Russian, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish languages, as well as specialists in the fields of Political Science, Area Studies, International Journalism, etc. Currently, over 4,000 students study at the Yerevan State Linguistic University, specializing in different fields.

Typical Volunteer Tasks: To date, volunteers have supported the Career and Alumni Center, offering invaluable support to university students in their career development journey. Additionally, volunteers are tasked with conducting non-formal language lessons in their native language, contributing to the language department’s enrichment.


The Civilization and Cultural Studies at YSU at Yerevan State University collaborates closely with the Department of Oriental Studies, fostering academic exchange and exploration. The research activities of the Center focus on a wide range of issues including value systems, civilizational streams, mechanisms of intercultural cooperation, regional socio-political processes, as well as public policy making. The Center periodically publishes the results of its work in the issues of The Analytical Bulletin and The Counselor of Public Policy.

Typical Volunteer Tasks:  Volunteers possessing proficiency in the Arabic language support professors and facilitate Arabic language classes. They can additionally pursue independent research in their respective areas of interest. Successful contributions are often published in the center’s newspaper, providing volunteers with a platform to showcase their research findings and insights.


The Women’s Resource Center Armenia stands as the first resource center established in Armenia for young women. WRCA is working in the area of women’s rights, human rights, reproductive and sexual rights, sexual violence and women’s role in the conflict resolution and peace building. WRCA’s main goal is to give women the necessary tools and empower them to become active citizens of the Armenian community, through education and support. Typical Volunteer Tasks: Typical volunteer tasks at WRCA include teaching English language classes and participating in the “Art and Activism” program, offering an opportunity for volunteers interested in human rights and women’s rights to contribute meaningfully to the organization’s mission. 


Oqni NGO is a non-profit organization based in Armenia, established by a diverse team comprising both local Armenians and members of the Diaspora from the US, Canada, France, UK, and Germany. The organization is dedicated to developing a comprehensive system of next-generation prosthetics with integrated rehabilitation support, manufactured and fitted within Armenia, aiming to restore the capabilities of war victims and other amputees at no cost. Committed to fostering innovation, Oqni strives to position Armenia as a center for cutting-edge 3D-printed, AI-driven prosthetics through collaborative research and development initiatives. 

Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers contribute in various capacities. Depending on their level of expertise, some volunteers analyze the organizational structure of Oqni NGO, assess its technological utilization, and understand its overarching goals. Then they can identify operational challenges within the NGO and the local prosthetics industry through surveys and data collection techniques, develop strategies for enhancing NGO performance, and advocate for the adoption of new technologies or methodologies to both internal and external stakeholders. They also oversee the implementation of new technologies and operational systems, conduct workshops, training sessions, and fundraising events, and assist the PR and social media team in marketing and communication efforts, particularly during campaigns. Volunteers with a fundraising background can conduct research to identify potential donors, craft compelling fundraising projects tailored to resonate with prospective donors, reach out to potential donors via various channels, utilize online platforms to facilitate donation drives, organize campaigns and events to solicit donations, maintain comprehensive records of donor information, evaluate the effectiveness of past fundraising initiatives, and ensure compliance with all legal reporting requirements.


French University of Armenia UFAR places significant emphasis on the development and maintenance of a culture of integrity within its academic community. Since its establishment in 2000 under a cultural, scientific, and technical cooperation agreement between the French and Armenian governments, UFAR has been committed to embodying this core value through concrete actions. Supported by the Ministries of Education and Science and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, and the French Embassy in Armenia, UFAR strives to ensure a holistic educational experience for its students.

Arvestaran creates a safe and enabling environment, where disadvantaged groups and the wider community will build an inclusive and aware society. The Center supports people with autism and other developmental disorders of all ages to develop and advance their living, social, and self-advocacy skills. Arvestaran also works with young adults in especially difficult circumstances. Arvestaran provides the following range of services: consultancy and creative therapy services, such as art, music, dance, and crafts, educational services, such as pre-elementary training and vocational training, capacity building for sector specialists, Advocacy Hub.

Typical Volunteer Tasks: Most volunteers help develop curriculum and/or teach English to kids, teens, or youth with different disabilities and developmental disorders. In addition, volunteers help staff organize events and handle some administrative work, including writing emails to possible partners/donors. 


The Slavonic University is a prominent educational institution in the South Caucasus, offering a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across more than 70 fields under the dual jurisdiction of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia. Organized into five institutes – the Institute of Economics and Business, the Institute of Law and Political Sciences, the Institute of Humanitarian Studies, the Institute of Advertisement and Media, and the Institute of Mathematics and Higher Technologies – the university provides comprehensive educational opportunities for both national and international students.

Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteer opportunities within the university include conducting conversational foreign language classes, providing assistance to the university psychologist, grant writing, research, and administrative support such as establishing and maintaining communication with embassies, foreign officials, and international organizations, aiding in the preparation of project and grant proposals, offering international services to students and staff, and assisting in organizing meetings and events. Additionally, volunteers can engage in public relations, media, and web content management tasks, including promoting international projects and study opportunities, ensuring media coverage of international events involving RAU, updating the Department website, preparing and editing videos/photos for publications.


The European Institute of International Languages provides high-quality education with a focus on foreign languages through implementation of modern proactive teaching methodologies.

Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteer opportunities at the institute mainly involve providing support for foreign language classes. Volunteers are encouraged to lead weekly thematic training sessions for teachers, emphasizing proactive teaching methods and active listening techniques. In addition to this, volunteers will be responsible for creating systems to assess student understanding and tracking teacher advancement. They may also assist in formulating and implementing a strategy for school development, as well as conducting analyses to pinpoint areas in need of improvement. Yerevan State University’s Center for Gender and Leadership Studies promotes gender equality and leadership in Armenian society. They provide comprehensive research, training, and outreach functions engaging Armenian higher education institutions, local NGOs, and international agencies, in training women for career promotion and professional leadership.

Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteer opportunities at the center involve organizing and conducting research activities. Volunteers may also assist with translating documents and articles, or serve as trainers for one-day training sessions aimed at students.


Armath Engineering Laboratories is an organization addressing the need for a workforce that is skilled in science, technology, engineering, and math, by teaching children as young as 10 how exciting and fun STEM can be. The goals are ambitious: stimulating technological education in Armenia; guiding the professional orientation of students towards innovation and STEM; improving the existing workforce with technical education; encouraging the expansion of the advanced technology sector; and solving a wide range of socio-economic issues linked to national security, economic development, and education.

Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers with backgrounds in mathematics, engineering, and IT are typically tasked with teaching Armath students. Volunteers proficient in IT and technical skills, including programming languages such as C++/C, C#, Python, Java, Unity, and 3D modeling programs like FreeCAD and 3Ds Max, can impart their knowledge to students in these areas, thereby contributing to the organization’s mission of empowering the next generation in STEM fields. Additionally, volunteers fluent in English can assist in teaching conversational English to students.


Founded in 2003, Alliance Francaise Armenia is a non-profit association, a private institution of higher education, and a professional training organization, whose main mission is to promote the French language, French-speaking cultures, and cultural diversity through language courses and various cultural events.

Typical Volunteer Tasks:  Volunteer prepare and lead/assist French language classes. Additionally, French-speaking volunteers can contribute to communications, marketing, and social media efforts, leveraging their language skills to enhance outreach and engagement. Volunteers with graphic design skills can also assist in creating promotional materials, furthering the organization’s mission of promoting French language and culture in Armenia.


The American University of Armenia (AUA) is a private institution of higher learning, offering a global education in Armenia. The Department of Open Education serves as the University’s principal interface with the community, offering a wide range of quality courses tailored to various sectors including government, academia, private organizations, and individuals. These courses, designed to help participants achieve their professional and career objectives, are delivered through flexible and innovative adult and continuing education training programs.They offer comprehensive English Language Training, a multitude of Computer Literacy and Information Technology courses, and a number of Leadership, Business, and Entrepreneurship courses. AUA’s Open Education seeks to fill the vital gaps of professional knowledge and skills that exist in certain communities and to inspire essential and relevant clusters within those communities to come together and create tangible changes, generating a lasting positive impact.

Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers lead conversational English classes for participants from diverse backgrounds, helping them improve their spoken English skills in a supportive and interactive environment. They can also assist in planning and conducting professional development trainings focused on various topics such as leadership, business, entrepreneurship, computer literacy, information technology. Additionally, they can provide administrative support assisting with organizing course schedules, managing participant registrations, and maintaining course materials and resources.


TUMO  stands as an innovative hub equipped with cutting-edge digital technology and staffed by dedicated educators and media professionals. Offering an unconventional after-school learning environment, TUMO empowers thousands of students aged 12-18 to take control of their own learning journey. Through hands-on activities and engaging workshops, students explore various focus areas such as animation, game development, filmmaking, web development, music, writing, drawing, graphic design, 3D modeling, programming, robotics, motion graphics, photography, and new media.
