WWF Armenia specializes in the conservation of landscape and nature in Armenia. Since 2002 the WWF has been operating in Armenia and became an official branch of the WWF in 2006. Ever since then WWF has been promoting wildlife conservation and has been advocating for preserving Armenia’s magnificent nature.

Typical Volunteer Tasks: By volunteering with WWF Armenia, individuals have the opportunity to contribute to the protection of Armenia’s biodiversity and natural heritage while gaining valuable experience in environmental conservation. Volunteers can contribute by writing articles on environmental issues, conservation projects, and success stories to raise awareness and share valuable insights with the community. Volunteers can also help promote WWF Armenia’s mission and initiatives by managing and promoting its social media creating and sharing impactful content. Those with technical skills can assist in updating and maintaining the organization’s website to ensure that information is current and easily accessible to the public. Volunteers can use their storytelling skills to create compelling narratives about WWF Armenia’s conservation work, capturing the attention and support of a wider audience. Additionally, they can assist in organizing events such as workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns to engage the community and raise funds for conservation projects.


The Yerevan Botanical Garden is an institution of scientific, environmental, educational and recreational importance. The main purpose is the introduction of highly decorative and economically valuable plant species from different phytogeographical regions of the planet. One of the most important and priority tasks of the botanical garden is the ex-situ conservation of rare and endangered representatives of the Armenian flora. Gagarin Project aims to provide a comprehensive, long-term sustainable model of territorial development which will best contribute to the discovery and self-expression of the existing human potential. Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers support in developing a digital agricultural strategy. They typically handle tasks such as conducting analyses of the project’s objectives, assessing relevant technologies, and formulating a roadmap for implementation.


Green Lane Agricultural Assistance was established in 2004 by a group of agricultural researchers, farmers, students, and agribusiness professionals dedicated to the common goal of agricultural and rural development in Armenia. The organization supports farmer cooperation and development of commercial farming in Armenia, ultimately assisting in the production and marketing of high quality agricultural products via formation of farmer groups, versatile advisory efforts, training, dissemination of information, and establishment of demonstration fields and farms. Green Lane also promotes the establishment and sustainable development of farmer groups in different regions of Armenia, to produce high quality competitive agricultural products. Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers interested in organic farming, agriculture, and sustainable development are invited to contribute to Green Lane’s mission by assisting the team both at the office and on their farms. Moreover, volunteers with skills in graphic design can help with creating informative materials (such as maps for the Green Learning Center and infographics).


ICARE shapes food and agribusiness leaders through state-of-the-art education programs and cutting-edge research. They administer the Agribusiness Teaching Center, the Agribusiness Research Center, and the EVN Wine Academy. ICARE prepares students to assist farmers, businesses, and public agencies to overcome challenges and work towards a more sustainable and profitable agricultural sector in Armenia and globally.

Typical Volunteer Tasks:  In the Development Office and PR and Communications Office, volunteers engage in tasks ranging from communication with donors to the development of promotional materials (such as booklets, brochures, videos, and posters) and scanning online databases for research and development project opportunities. Additionally, volunteers contribute to the Career Development and Counseling Center by organizing events, creating databases, monitoring internships, and providing administrative support.


The mission of ISSD NGO is to facilitate sustainable development within Armenia by executing innovative initiatives in various sectors such as waste management, agriculture, education, entrepreneurship, and gender equality. Annually, the organization coordinates over 20 clean-up campaigns, with a particular emphasis on areas surrounding water bodies, meticulously collecting recyclable materials and delivering them to recycling facilities.

Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteer roles encompass a diverse range of responsibilities including office administration, research, fieldwork, writing, translation, editing, environmental tasks, graphic design, logistics, photography, project management, and videography. Volunteers are expected to assist the team across various facets such as fundraising, promotional endeavors, engagement of students, and collaboration with stakeholders. FPWC’s mission is to protect and conserve wildlife and natural heritage, synergizing sustainable community development, environmental education and behavior change. Their vision is to ignite a vibrant and sustainable future, where wildlife is safeguarded, communities prosper and the profound interconnection between humans and nature is celebrated. FPWC is driven by commitment to sustainable and empowered community development, resilient livelihoods and transformative environmental stewardship.  

Typical Volunteer Tasks:  Individuals with a background in environmental science can contribute by conducting trainings in different regions. Additionally, volunteers interested in hands-on work can assist the ZOO staff with tasks such as cleaning, feeding animals, and managing green territories during the spring and summer months. Furthermore, FPWC seeks assistance with writing, editing, and translating tasks, providing volunteers with an opportunity to contribute to the organization’s communication efforts.


ATP was founded in 1993 to further Armenia’s economic and social development by mobilizing resources outside the country to fund reforestation. These vital new trees provide food, fuel, wood, environmental benefits, and opportunities for economic growth. ATP’s goal is to assist the Armenian people in using trees to improve their standard of living and protect the local environment. The organization is guided by the need to promote self-sufficiency, aid those with the fewest resources first, and conserve the indigenous ecosystem. Typical Volunteer Tasks:  In the PR/Communications team, volunteers assist with storytelling about ATP activities by writing articles, editing reports, and creating donor-related documents. Volunteers with experience in film/video production can contribute by producing promotional videos and environmental education materials. Additionally, volunteers support event management activities such as organizing press conferences, press tours, open days, and exhibitions. In the Environmental Educational Department, volunteers can organize and conduct environmental training sessions for children in Educational centers in Karin (Ashtarak) and Margahovit (Lori). This involves identifying the needs of the learning group, conceptualizing the training, implementing it, and evaluating its effectiveness.


The American University of Armenia (AUA) is a private institution of higher learning, offering a global education in Armenia. ACE is a research center of the AUA that promotes the protection and restoration of the natural environment through research, education, and community outreach. Its areas of focus include: environmental policy, sustainable natural resource management, built environment and the natural environment, and information technology and the natural environment. Typical Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers can join research teams and conduct studies on topics such as water management, green urbanism, biodiversity conservation (birds and butterflies), mining toxic waste, and environmental law. Volunteers may also be assigned research projects aligned with their educational or professional backgrounds. In addition to research, volunteers can participate in hands-on projects related to ongoing initiatives. Additionally, volunteers can assist with digital media campaigns by designing content for social media and email marketing, creating digital content for ACE’s website, Facebook page, and mailing campaigns, and maintaining and updating the center’s presence on various media platforms.
