In the sphere of human rights protection PINK Armenia promotes the ideas of equality and acceptance of vulnerable groups. We want to bring into being acceptance and appreciation of diversity in our society through encouraging cultural sensitivity, acceptance and through eliminating any kind of discrimination. The target group of the organization is the youth and especially the vulnerable ones (LGBT, women and girls, victims of sexual abuse, sex workers, injecting drug users, migrants).

Volunteers are needed for assisting and conducting training on gender issues; LGBT community; Assistance for organization of public events; Help with the creation of materials for the electronic magazine of the organization; Coordination of movie and English clubs.

Helsinki Association Yerevan
Helsinki Association deals only with the issues directly concerning directly human rights issues and does not have any religious, political or national affiliation. The main goal and mission of Helsinki Association is protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, including freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly and peaceful demonstrations, particularly at courts, prisons, psychiatric institutions and army. It also does the monitoring fulfilling the obligations concerning human rights under international treaties and agreements signed by Armenia. The organization provides with free legal advice and advocacy service.

The volunteers' responsibility is the observation at the courts, translation of articles from Armenian into English and/or Russian.

Motivation * To prevent orphaned adults with mental illness or disabilities from being forced to spend the remainder of their lives in the psychiatric institutions of Armenia where their needs are unable to be met and where there is no hope for individualized care, rehabilitation and quality of life.

    The Lady Cox Rehabilitation Centre in Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, continues to be internationally known as a centre of excellence in rehabilitation and providing care for those with physical or mental disabilities. It looks after babies, children and adults who have been disabled from birth as well as patients suffering from war injuries, accidents and illnesses such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, head injuries, child cerebral palsy, ect. The centre boasts a wide range of therapies available, including sports,music, arts and hydrotherapy. In 2007 a Day Care Centre for very young children was established. Through the Day Care Centre children who have disabilities and special needs can be cared for alongside other children.

    Institute of Molecular Biology National Academy of Sciences of RA

    Current research activities of IMB are focused on investigation of regulatory mechanisms of cell activity and its alterations in a number of pathologic conditions including autoimmune, autoinflammatory, cerebrovascular, infectious, oncological, and psychiatric disorders. The research, conducting in vivo, in vitvo, in situ and in silico, includes human, animal, cell-cultures and computation modeling studies on genetic, protein, cellular, membrane, and sub-cellular levels. A special attention is paid to mediators of the immune and signal transduction systems. An important area of the research is Armenian genome study using pathogenomics, ecogenomics, immunogenomics, and population genomics approaches.
